Sahodaya Complex is a concept developed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi, the largest governing body of academics with nearly 10,000 schools affiliated to it within the country as well as abroad (118 Schools) functioning under the aegis of Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. It is unique platform for all CBSE affiliated Schools to share their experience and to work jointly for academic as well as co-curricular excellence. There are 150 Sahodaya Complexes functioning effectively across the country and abroad.
The Sahodaya Schools Complex, Bhubaneswar Chapter of Orissa is one with a vast network of 35 schools like DAVs, Kendriya Vidyalays, DM School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and other affiliated schools of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore, Berhampur, Angul & Talcher etc running effectively. The schools are sharing and caring the experience in academic, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities aiming all round development of the students’ community and striving for excellence.
As a part of the sharing & caring programme, the Sahodaya Schools Complex, Bhubaneswar Chapter adopted a school named Baroda Binayak Vidya Mandir situated in the village Valunka at about 15 kms away from Bhubaneswar by providing all the requirements for education of the students and those students also are invited to the annual function to receive your blessings.
In order to develop a competitive sprit among the schools the Complex organizes interschool competitions in essay writing & debate in all languages, quiz, art & painting, science exhibitions etc. Interschool competitions in Basketball, Football, Hockey, Table Tennis etc. are also conducted among the students of these schools.
Every year the Complex organizes its annual function with the active participation and co-operation of the entire member schools and felicitates the winners of different competitions organised by it.
The First Annual Day Celebrations of the complex held in the Auditorium premises of Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar was graced by the Hon’ble Governor of Orissa Shri M. M. Rajendran and Mrs. Sushila Rajendran in the year 2004. In the year 2005 the Hon’ble Governor of Orissa Shri Rameswar Thakur and Mrs. Narmada Thakur graced the 2nd Annual Day Celebrations at Dav Public School, Unit-VIII.
Shri Omkar Nath Mohanty, Vice-Chancellor, BPUT & Dr. Subhakanta Behera, IFS, Ex- President, Board of Secondary Education, Orissa graced the 3rd Annual Day Celebrations at DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur in 2006, Shri D. N. Padhi, IAS (Retd.), Chief Election Commissioner, Orissa graced the 4th Annual Day Celebrations at DAV Public School, Unit-VIII & His Excellency Shri Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare, Hon’ble Governor of Orissa graced the 5th Annual Day Celebrations at Sainik School, Bhubaneswar.
